Omri Abas (the "author"), for a research study on the duration and representativeness of environmental noise measurements: whether a measurement over part of a period, such as one hour, represents the whole period, such as a nine-hour night. The study continues the article What percentile sound levels identify: energy bounds, background recovery, and source combination (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23088962), which leaves this question open in its Sections 8.9 and 9.5.
Nothing is sent when you only use the calculator. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. A contribution is sent only when you press "Send" with the required boxes ticked.
No names of clients or residents, no addresses, no coordinates, no photographs. Please remove site names from the file name before sending. If your file contains such data in extra columns, remove the columns first. You confirm that you have the right to share the record.
Files and metadata are stored in a private cloud storage account controlled by the author (hosted by Supabase Inc.), readable only by the author. Records are kept for the duration of the study and of any open dataset built from it. Contact details are deleted when no longer needed for the purposes above.
You may ask for a record to be removed at any time by writing to omri.abas1@gmail.com with the contribution ID shown after sending. Records already included in a published open dataset cannot be recalled from copies others have downloaded.
If you ask to be named, contributors are listed in the acknowledgements of the companion paper. Otherwise the contribution is anonymous.
